Project Overview: The Cybernetic Alter-Ego
This cinematic showcase highlights a detailed, high-fidelity 3D character design brought to life through an advanced mix of traditional modelling software, AI generation, and physical production pipelines:
- Meshy AI: Employed to generate the core structural frame and organic silhouette of the main character model based on real-world reference maps.
1. Autodesk Fusion 360: Used for the precise parametric modelling and engineering of the hard-surface mechanical armour panels.
2. Autodesk VRED: Selected to achieve high-end studio lighting, casting intense metallic chrome reflections (rose gold and obsidian black) across the surfaces.
3. CapCut: Utilised to piece together the fast-paced action sequences, music transitions, and rhythmic dance choreography.
- Backstory: From Disappointment to 3D Design
The project was born out of personal frustration turned into a creative challenge.
1. The Motivation
After hitting a major milestone in my fitness journey and finally achieving the physical body shape I had been dreaming of for years, I wanted a unique way to celebrate. I decided to order a custom action figure modelled after myself as a tangible trophy of my hard work.
2. The Turning Point
When the order arrived, it was deeply disappointing. The figure lacked definition, looked cheap, and failed to capture the proportions or spirit of what I wanted. Instead of accepting it, I took matters into my own hands and decided to build my own ultimate cybernetic action figure.
3. The Workflow
- AI Character Generation: I started by using Meshy AI to quickly generate a base human mesh modelled after my improved physical structure, ensuring the baseline proportions were perfect.
- Armour Modelling in Fusion 360:** Using that base model, I moved into Autodesk Fusion 360. Drawing from various science-fiction and robotic inspirations, I meticulously engineered a sleek, angular suit of high-tech armor complete with dual energy blades.
4. The Physical Reward: After refining the textures and look in VRED, I exported the optimised model and successfully 3D printed the final armour and figure—creating a personalised, production-quality trophy that truly celebrated my achievement.

The video transitions through two distinct artistic moods, demonstrating the model's range of motion and joint fluidity as shown in Compilation full.mov:
1. Phase 1: The Dark Showdown
The first half of the video features a tense, high-contrast standoff between two variants of the armor—one finished in high-gloss obsidian black with magenta accents, and the other in a reflective rose-gold chrome. The figures perform aggressive combat stances and low-profile martial arts manoeuvres under dramatic spotlight flares.
2. The Energy Sword Effect: To elevate the visual drama of the combat stances in Compilation full.mov, the VDB (Volume Database) option in VRED was utilized. This allowed for the integration of realistic volumetric data directly into the render, creating the dynamic, glowing aura of energy and smoke flames swirling around the blades.
